My Story

Since I started Surf Skating, I’ve been fascinated with innovating new tricks and exploring new locations. This lead to my interest in innovating new types of boards and shapes.

When I started making boards, I made giant 6 foot plank boards. It was kind of a joke at first, but it lit a fire in me to explore different lengths and shapes of boards. From then on, I realized that the average or “most popular” board out there, wasn’t always the most fun.

While I still carve 6 foot boards, these days I focus on pressing shortboards. My shortboards are pressed with a convex slot right at the bottom of the tail where the board narrows. This is intended to be where the back foot sits and it is designed this way to give your foot maximum dig, leverage and traction. With so much for your foot to hold on to, there is less adjustment needed for your foot allowing you to move between backside and frontside slides quicker on top of being able to perform more aggressive slides.

This setup is very personal to me and is honed exactly to my liking. If you have changes or shape adjustments you would like on your potential board, please reach out to me by email or text message.

The 6 foot longboard

The 6 foot skateboards have gone from plank boards to hand carved works of art. Each board has concave either carved right down the middle or pressed into the board itself. I use a variety of hand tools for this process such as scorps, Japanese hand planes, and many other tools such as what you would see a traditional chair maker using. Once the board is carved to shape and smoothed with hand planes, I add a layer of fiberglass on the bottom side to protect the structure of the board.
